The family-owned company Thomas develops and manufactures electromagnetic and fluidic actuator systems. Our products are used in the off-highway, mobility and healthcare markets. Our mission to support our customers with the products we develop has seen us grow into a leading supplier with four international sites. German Medical Engineering GmbH (GME) has been part of the Thomas Group since 2025. The company specialises in the development of professional therapeutic light and laser systems, complementing our existing markets with healthcare. Metering pumps, proportional valves, and proportional solenoids are some of our key product ranges. Our core competence lies in design and development of new actuators and system solutions. We currently employ about 900 people. Our electromagnetically driven products control actuation, switching, on/off, pumping, metering and manifold solutions for hydraulic systems, exceeding ISO requirements. Thomas products are used in automotive, off highway, agricultural, engine, clutch & transmission, pump & motor controls. Thomas is one of the pioneers in the field of components for clean exhaust gases, particularly when it comes to developing and manufacturing parts for SCR (selective catalytic reduction) systems and for DPF (diesel particulate filter) regeneration. Thomas has extensive experience in supplying products for conveying and regulating fuel, additives, or aqueous solutions such as DEF (diesel exhaust fluid or AdBlue®). The Group currently consists of: Thomas Magnete GmbH (Herdorf, Germany), Thomas Magnete USA, LLC (Brookfield, USA), Thomas Magnete Italia srl (Modena, Italy) and a Representative Office Shanghai (China).
