About Thor Architects

Unlimited by scale or sector, we work on a range of architecture, urbanism and design that integrates the user with the context. The practice was founded by Gudjon Erlendsson as a partnership in 1999, a 2009 restructuring was a new page with a diverse team taking it to another level of creative exploration and helping to established an internationally awarded architecture studio. With over twenty-five years of experience, our work is diverse and has gained national and international recognition. The studio is characterised by open, collective and non-hierarchical working processes. Our range of projects–from houses, schools, religious buildings, urban design, university buildings, master-planning, retail, installations, to historic restorations are all unique because each project is specific in function and context. We do not consider anything outside our scope and are dedicated to advocating for the wants and needs of our clients. The practice specializes in emerging technology in architecture. Using innovative digital and analogue techniques to drive a very simple idea; a building that feels it naturally belongs to a place, a time and culture, inhabits will feel a sense of belonging and happiness. Design matters and building matters; better buildings make better people. We advocate our approach through driven architectonic innovations and academic research.
