Thrif is the first of its kind in South Africa - a Resale-as-a-Service (RaaS) platform that makes selling pre-owned goods effortless, and shopping for them feel as good as buying new. We believe that resale is having a huge, growing impact on the sustainability and affordability of online shopping, especially in markets where affordability is also top of mind. However, users of existing peer-to-peer marketplaces are experiencing two key issues that are limiting its true potential: 1. Managing listings is too time consuming (sellers) and 2. The listings themselves are inconsistent i.t.o photography, pricing, descriptiveness and authenticity (shoppers). Thrif offers a highly convenient, end-to-end digital consignment service that uses an innovative mix of AI, software and physical solutions, which enable our staff members to process pre-owned items at unmatched speed, quality and scale. These items are sold on consignment via Thrif's online store and other channels. We're committed to a zero-waste future. Every item that passes through Thrif is either sold to a new owner, returned to the original owner (on request), or donated to our textile recycling and disability empowerment partner, Clothes To Good (www.clothestogood.com). Thrif's mission is clear - to solve the pain points of both sellers and shoppers of pre-owned goods and, in the process, create jobs and promote a more sustainable "re-commerce" future.
