About Thunder Bay Aviation

Thunder Bay Aviation Ltd. was formed as an incorporated company in March of 1987. The objective of our Company at startup was to provide overhaul and repair services to the many aircraft operators in Northwestern Ontario for their varied fleet of aircraft. Our focus shifted to the De Havilland DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft and in June of 1989 we began to acquire surplus parts for the Twin Otter. In 1996 we acquired our Manufacturing Approval. To date, we have STC, PDA and PMA’s for over 300 parts, ground equipment and miscellaneous equipment for the DHC-6 Twin Otter, DHC-3 Otter and DHC-2 Beaver aircraft. In addition, we now stock a large variety of replacement parts for the Twin Otter, with over 500 line items on our shelves. In June of 2015, Thunder Bay Aviation Ltd. and Sunshine Airspares Inc. became sister companies; with the extensive inventory, capabilities and expertise of our two companies and staff, we are able to greater support our customer’s needs.
