About Thursdays

Thursdays is an independent retail boutique established by Rita Benzacar, her brother James Benzacar and Rita’s daughter Gillian Piltz. Located at 1130 Yonge Street, Thursdays receives new merchandise every Thursday (hence the name), keeping the customer in tune with the latest trends. Rita and her brother/business partner James Benzacar, having been in the wholesale industry for more than 30 years, recognized their customers’ constant desire for new clothing. Meanwhile, Gill, who was studying business at Western, wanted to provide a platform for university students to shop just in time for the weekend. As a mother-daughter duo, Gill and Rita buy for all ages, creating an inclusive environment where any customer can find something to wear. Our motto is “Thursdays and Every Other Day” – meaning that though we bring in our newest inventory on Thursdays, we have things for Monday through Sunday, and our primary goal is that our customers feel confident and beautiful every day of the week. As we continue to grow, we have developed into a brand, manufacturing our cashmere and other favourite pieces, building and improving to satisfy our customer’s needs, brainstorming 24/7, and constantly pushing our creativity to the fullest. At Thursdays, we love what we do and we dress the women we love—everyday.
