About Tippin's Gourmet Pies

For 40-plus years, Tippin's pie has been a Kansas City tradition. Originally founded in 1980 as Pippin's Restaurant and Pie Pantry, in 1985, the name was changed to Tippin's. Pie lovers from around the Kansas City area came to the restaurants to experience the most delicious pies within hundreds of miles. Soon, the restaurants expanded throughout the Midwest. In 2004, Tippin's Restaurants closed their retail operations, but Balls Foods realized the significance of the Tippin's name, and what it meant to Kansas City. Balls Foods purchased the original Tippin's Pie formulas and created Tippin's Gourmet Pies, L.L.C., thus carrying on a Kansas City tradition of exceptional pie.
