About Tiso Foundation

The TISO Foundation is a self-sustaining organisation that was established in 2001 with the objective of making a meaningful and lasting contribution towards the socio-economic development of our country and the African continent. Founded on the belief that education is the surest path to empowerment, and mindful of the inequalities that are historically embedded in the social structure of South Africa, the organisation provides both financial and non-financial support to enable deserving young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue a variety of educational, training and leadership programmes. Since its inception, the foundation has invested over R100 million in the educational development of South African youth, enabling more than 42 000 young people to develop their skills, with the expectation that their continuing contribution to society will bring about the upliftment of their families, communities, and the nation as a whole.
