The Tisserand Institute is a global platform providing expert-led and evidence-based education in the field of essential oils. Founded in 2014 by Robert Tisserand, a household name in the world of aromatherapy, the institute focuses on up-to-date knowledge with emphasis on ‘translating’ research into practical guidelines for any essential oil user. We’re happy to be working with a team of tutors with over 100 years of combined expertise! Our core value is to seek out the science supporting essential oil claims and deliver evidence-based information for the safe and effective use of essential oils in order to empower our students and graduates to build their career and identity based on sound knowledge. We are brand neutral, meaning that we do not sell essential oils, and we are not affiliated with any company that does. This allows us to explore the potential and proven health benefits in great depth, while creating a welcoming environment for everyone who wants to learn about essential oils. In order to dip your toes into Tisserand Institute education, why not try one of our single classes? Or if you wish to focus on a specific area, our certification courses offer just that. In the space of 4 to 9 weekly lessons (depending on the course) you will be guided by one of our expert tutors and gain confidence in your own knowledge and skills – whether it’s in product formulation, kinetics, safety, chemistry, skin care, or how essential oils are produced. And should you want to spend more time with us, you can opt for one of our Diploma programs – AromaDermatology or Aromatic Science.
