About TKD Group

TKD International Group was founded in 1986 in Munich, Germany, by Hungarian-born visionary businessmen. The abbreviation of TKD brand came from the German phrase "Telekommunikation Deutschland" (=Telecommunications Germany), meaning that the company first started dealing with telecommunications electronics products. Meanwhile, TKD started to deal with many kinds of electronics and hi-tech products. By 1988, the company had have businesses in 44 countries throughout the world. TKD has invented and started to distribute the first polilingual electronic translator devices with Eastern European languages, becoming quickly the global market leader in the industry. By 1991, after the change of regime in Central Eastern Europe, TKD Group has relocated its headquarters to Budapest, Hungary, investing in various new businesses in the region, including electronics service companies (Orion-TKD), outdoor media, LED lighting and solar technology and services, ceramic insulation products and services, FMCG healthcare products, IT services as well as commercial real estates. As of 2008, due to the new trends, the company started restructuring its businesses, offering its products and services online as well. TKD will keep expanding its business by founding new own brands and trading with other top brands, in order to better the living standards of people by its innovative products and real CSR activities.
