About TLC for Kids

TLC for Kids is a children’s charity dedicated to giving practical and emotional support to sick kids and their families across Australia. As soon as we receive a request or referral from a healthcare professional, we work swiftly to meet the needs of those people who so desperately need our help. TLC for Kids is unique in that we operate immediately and inclusively, with extremely short turn-around times and no restrictive criteria. In short, we bridge the gap for those kids and families who would otherwise miss out. This includes sufferers of accidents and burns; rare illnesses; abuse; financial hardship; family trauma; mental health issues; and long-term illnesses and conditions that require ongoing support. We support children even if they have been helped by another charity in the past, and by steering clear of ‘wish granting’ we ensure our kids remain eligible to receive help in future by other charities. We operate this way as a result of years of close interaction and communication with hospitals, who keep us informed of where the gaps are forming, and what’s really needed in wards. Every distraction makes the fear fade away. Every bit of support is something families never, ever forget. Every toy has a medical purpose.
