Dr. Toby Snelgrove is a psychotherapist, trauma consultant, educator and photographer. HIs work history includes teaching sociology and human communications at British Columbia’s Douglas College, Management Development and management training with the Canadian Public Service Commission, freelance and commercial photography on the lower mainland, The Couple Clinic a private counselling practice in North Vancouver, then joined with Dr. Jessica Easton to form Easton-Snelgrove Inc., a counselling, consulting and training centre specializing in grief and loss, workplace trauma counselling and training, as well as general counselling services. In the late 1980’s, Toby specialized in workplace, early intervention trauma services often referred to as Critical Incident Stress Management. Since that time he has provided workplace training intervention services for a wide range of organizations including RCMP, Salvation Army, Canadian Military, Air traffic Control, Worksafe BC, Canadian Ski Patrol, UN. High Commission for Refugees, Nav Canada, GVRD - CRD, Coast Guard, Toronto Public Housing, BC Fire Commissioners, E-Comm, Vancouver Airport Authority, Victim’s Services, variety of social services agencies, hospitals and health districts. Toby has published a variety of articles and other publications including Critical Incident Stress- Sources Symptoms and Solutions, Critical Incident Stress: A leaders Guide, Critical Incident Stress: Continuing Education for the EMA, Proactive Trauma Management: Trauma Intervenors Resource Manual, Police Suicide: Detection, Prevention, and Intervention. He is a past board member of the Canadian Traumatic Stress Specialists and the American Association of Traumatic Stress Specialist as well as a variety of community boards in Vancouver and Mayne Island. Toby’s alma-matters include Ryerson Polytechnic Institute, Trent University, Boston University, University of British Columbia, and Columbia Pacific University.
