About Todd Maritime Services

In early 1987, Richard Todd was employed as the Operations Manager for Beaufort Shipping Inc. In this capacity Mr. Todd earned the trust, respect and confidence of ship owners, charterers, and shippers worldwide. Based on these strong personal relationships, and the unique and comprehensive services Mr. Todd provided , many became Beaufort Shipping clients. This resulted in a rapid expansion of the client base for Beaufort Shipping. At the end of the first quarter in 1987 Beaufort Shipping suddenly and unexpectedly closed its doors and filed for bankruptcy. Feeling a moral and ethical responsibility to his clients, Mr. Todd formed Todd Maritime Services on April 6, 1987. His timely action insured that his trusted clients were not affected by the collapse of Beaufort Shipping. From the very beginning, Todd Maritime Services has offered the most comprehensive and complete freight forwarding, vessel chartering and logistical services available in the field of hazardous materials and military armaments. Since its founding in 1987, TMS has grown to become the world's premier specialized logistics company. Our clients include the US government and various foreign governments, as well as most of the major defense contractors around the world. What makes TMSI unique is that we have a worldwide network of shipping professionals specializing in military and HAZMAT field. Our agents offer local on hand expertise allowing us to solve potentially expensive problems for our clients in a way not offered by our competitors. During our company's history we have handled the worldwide shipment of Nuclear, Explosives, Military Equipment and sensit ive high value items in a timely and completely professional manner.
