About Together Dementia Support
Together Dementia Support is a Manchester-based charity dedicated to improving the lives of people living with dementia and their families. Founded in 2014, we offer holistic post-diagnostic services designed to help individuals live positively with dementia and provide much-needed support for carers. We run six weekly Friendship & Activity Groups that create joyful spaces for people living with dementia to socialise, take part in arts & crafts, light exercise, music, and games. We also offer specialised groups, such as the Dementia Gospel Choir, a Walk and Talk group in Alexandra Park, and Together Out and About. These groups provide meaningful engagement, promote social connections, and help maintain cognitive and physical well-being. For those unable to attend in person, our Together at Home service provides one-to-one at-home support, bringing the group experience directly to people’s homes. Our support for carers is equally crucial. We offer online and in-person group support, one-to-one advice, and training opportunities to help carers manage their roles. Our Dementia Cafes serve as a hub for carers to meet, connect, and access essential resources. We also provide a four-week training course for family carers to help them navigate the complexities of dementia care with confidence. We believe in the power of community. Our WhatsApp groups for carers stay active, even on weekends when our services are closed, fostering ongoing support and friendships. At Together Dementia Support, we are committed to ensuring that no one faces dementia alone. Our mission is to provide a network of support, friendship, and education, empowering both those living with dementia and their carers to live well in their communities in the Manchester region.
