About TOIS - The Ostrava International School
The Ostrava International School (TOIS) is the first school in the Czech Republic devoted to providing the International Baccalaureate Curriculum from Early Years through to the Diploma Programme, for learners aged 3-19. Our Mission is to create a caring community of lifelong learners, each equipped with the knowledge and skills to be successful in an ever-evolving world. As an advocate of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and a champion of the IB Learner Profile, we nurture young people to grow and fulfil their personal and academic potential with dignity and respect. Today, our school community consists of students and staff from over 38 countries around the world, and our graduates are admitted to universities around the globe in a wide variety of majors. TOIS is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges – Council on International Education (NEASC/CIE), and are therefor recognised by the US Department of State as an international school. TOIS is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools. TOIS is recognised as an international school by the Korean Ministry of Education. TOIS has permission to operate as a “foreign school on the territory of the Czech Republic” by the Czech Ministry of Education. TOIS is a founding member of the Association of Central European Schools (ACES), a group of 37 IB schools in Central Europe, working together to deliver the best of international education. TOIS offers the DofE International Award, which is highly regarded by universities and employers around the world.
