About tomoni mental health

tomoni mental health is a young nonprofit organisation from Frankfurt am Main. We are a team of 20, and with tomoni ("together" in Japanese), we aim to sustainably change the status quo for young people with mental illnesses by activating their environment. Our Vision: "With scientifically based offerings, we empower the environment of young people to recognize signs of mental illnesses and take action. The earlier this happens, the better the chances for children and adolescents to lead self-determined lives and develop their academic and social skills." Specifically, we develop digital and interactive information and training offerings. We started in 2023 with tomoni.schools, our nationwide offering for secondary school staff. tomoni.schools is currently being scientifically evaluated by the University Hospital Würzburg. Recently, we added tomoni.starts and tomoni.parents, two additional offerings specifically for elementary school staff and parents of affected young people. Further offerings for the adult and peer environment will follow. Our work is supported by the scientific and educational advisory boards as well as the game.changers, our network of engaged and partially affected adolescents and young adults. tomoni is the winner of the Hessian Founder Award 2023 (Category "Social Impact"), and our founder Alix Puhl was a finalist ("Impact Entrepreneur") at the German Startup Awards 2023.
