About Tony Patiño Fellowship

The Tony Patiño Fellowship provides merit-based awards to exceptional law students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, character and service. The Fellowship application is open to admitted first-year law students at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco; Columbia Law School; and the University of Chicago Law School. The Fellowship may renew the annual scholarship for two additional consecutive years of law school for Fellows-Elect who uphold Fellowship standards and practices. Upon graduation from law school, Fellows-Elect become Tony Patiño Fellows and join a worldwide community of lawyer leaders of character and distinction. Tony Patiño Fellows have held many leadership roles in the public and private sector, including in the State Department, the White House, and the International Criminal Court. Fellows have served as U.S. Attorneys and Assistant U.S. Attorneys, Congressional staffers, government lawyers, elected officials, labor advocates, nonprofit founders and directors, entrepreneurs, in-house attorneys, private practice attorneys, artists and authors. “The mentors and friends I’ve made through the Patiño Fellowship pushed me to lean into my values and think deeply about my path.
