SINDS 1995 Top Notch is de rode draad door de Nederlandse hiphopgeschiedenis en het grootste muzieklabel van Nederland en België. Het platenlabel, dat in 1995 door Kees de Koning werd opgericht, speelt een fundamentele sleutelrol in de evolutie en volwassenwording van Nederlandstalige hiphop, dat met Top Notch als ruggengraat uitgroeide van undergroundstroming tot generatie-definiërend (en overstijgend) genre.
