So many great designers derive their inspiration from nature and Elizabeth Jane is one of them. Elizabeth Jane Looks at the world we live in and finds a way to integrate it into a design. This requires seeing nature from a new and very different perspective. Beautiful landscape drawings remind her of the beauty of nature, like heavy rainfall or raindrops that sparkle when running off a flower head. These beautiful images are translated into stunning and 'one-off' fascinating creations. Textures of water and unique shaped rocks, forming exceptional patterns and colour variations generate ideas that convert into designs. Elizabeth Jane’s ideas, shapes, textures and colours are sourced from her trips all over the world. The rich details and variety that nature has to offer inspires her creations. But not only are her ideas coming from land and foliage but animal traits can also be inspiring. Elizabeth Jane's amazing perspective gives a texture and pattern to her hats. Her element of motion is interpreted in one of her Autumn designs for a wedding fascinator. Waterfalls and breeze blown seeds are just some of the influences used in a workable composition. These unique and creative designs that are fun and original, incorporate different moods and lighting effects, too. She takes risks with colours and shapes, creating something that re configures what our brains expect to see and is a great way to get an audience’s attention. Gathered from photographs from her travels around the world she has a variety of effects from nature, landscapes, plants, animals, textures, mountains and valleys, then merges them into one design. Even city landscapes, mountain-like structures and vine shapes have inspired her to create an original design. “Research is time consuming” says Elizabeth Jane" but is also very rewarding for my “ideas sketch book”. It evokes emotions which in reality can really get my creative juices flowing."
