About Toronto Movement Therapy

Clients usually arrive at our door because they’re fed up. They’re in chronic pain, have lost mobility and function and it is taking a toll on their lives. Often they have been down the usual avenues for assistance and are just not making progress. Toronto Movement Therapy is a clinic where our practitioners are trauma sensitive and we use the biopsychsocial model of health to better meet our clients needs. Our services are client-centred and unique to the individual. Our practitioners understand the value of working as a team and collaborate and communicate effectively for efficient care. Movement Therapy is using movement modalities like Pilates, Yoga or traditional strength and conditioning exercises within a framework of rehabilitation for complex cases and diverse health histories. We make movement enjoyable and accessible for clients no matter their specific challenges are and create foundations of function and strength. We then add more dynamic load to build their strength and improve their motor control so they can live without fear and do the things they love. We help people understand movement so they can apply those principles to whatever activities or tasks they do in the future. Combining Movement Therapy with more traditional hands-on "manual" therapies creates deep and lasting change for clients, often resolving years long challenges, for good!
