See Below for History of the Company: Total Transit, Inc. was founded in March 1984 by Craig and Christine Hughes with the purchase of a 16 car airport fleet. The brand name, Discount Cab, became recognizable as the green taxis seen throughout the Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan areas. The company evolved through the years, changing with the times and growing to include a demand response division, a public transportation division and a transportation management division. Total Transit, operating as totalride, serves the Arizona market today as the managing entity for the following lines of business: Our Demand Response Division has built a reputation for delivering high value services via the effective use of innovative and progressive on-demand paratransit solutions that provide retail, ridesharing, non-emergency medical transportation, and paratransit overflow services. Our Public Transportation Division provides fixed and flex route bus operations, express bus, shuttle, charter and other transit related services for private and public entities as well as transit authorities. Additionally, totalride provides services to public and private schools – traditional route service, field trips, activity bus service, and specialized transportation for at risk and special needs students.
