About Totalkare
Totalkare Ltd is the UK's number one supplier of workshop equipment, supplying and maintaining vehicle lifts and brake testers to bus, coach, truck and other operators and repairers of heavy duty and light commercial vehicles all over the UK. The company was first formed in 1953 with the incorporation of Walter Somers Material Handling and went on to exist as Somers Handling and as part of the Triapt Holdings group along with Sefac and Pro-Lift. The SomersTotalkare business that operates today was born in 2004 when a management buyout sparked the demerger of Triapt and unified the UK divisions of Somers Vehicle Lifts and its aftersales division Totalkare. Following positive growth over the following 14 years, a further management buyout in 2018 saw Managing Director Tim Jackson and Technical Director Mick Gilliam retire from the business and a new management team led by the directorship of David Hall, James Radford, Peter Geobey and Mike Lord introduced to build on Totalkare's previous success. Since then, Totalkare has successfully added in-ground and mobile brake testers, vehicle pits, wheel alignment, the Y-MECH lift, headlamp testers, smoke meters and a light commercial four post lift to its product portfolio, as well as introducing the UK’s first dedicated wash bay mobile column lift featuring sealed bearings and a fully-galvanised finish for long term protection from water ingress. In addition, the Company announced a partnership with Italian manufacturer Emanuel which saw Totalkare enter the UK rail market supplying railway lifting jacks to rail depots and manufacturing plants.
