About Touching Mindfulness
Cultivating Safety, Confidence, and Pleasure in Intimacy I’m Emily, a Somatic Sex Educator in training and the founder of Touching Mindfulness. I started teaching sex education 10 years ago, building on my background in Sociology and Public Health. My work centers on trauma-informed intimacy, sexual confidence, and self-advocacy, empowering individuals to move beyond fear and uncertainty into connection and confidence. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is creating safe, judgment-free spaces where people can ask the questions they’ve never had the opportunity—or the right person—to ask. Again and again, I hear, “I’ve never told anyone this before.” I believe that conversations around intimacy, pleasure, and desire should feel as safe and natural as any other part of life. By normalizing these discussions, I help people move from shame and uncertainty to clarity and confidence. My own journey into this field is deeply personal. After experiencing sexual trauma in my early years, I sought healing through traditional therapy before discovering the transformative power of somatic practices—integrating movement, touch, and mindfulness. This approach fundamentally shifted my relationship with my body, boundaries, and pleasure. Now, I help others navigate similar transformations, whether they’re looking to overcome sexual anxiety, get out of their head during intimacy, uplevel their communication, or cultivate more fulfilling relationships. I’ve spent the last decade engaged in the sex-positive and kink communities of San Francisco, curating spaces that support exploration, education, and self-discovery. If you've ever felt like you had questions about intimacy, pleasure, or connection but didn’t know where to turn, I’d love to be that safe space for you. Let’s start the conversation.
