Welcome to Franklin, MA! Our town was founded in 1778 and is now home to a bustling community of 33,000 residents. Franklin is a family-oriented community, with highly ranked schools, countless programs, and facilities for all ages and a strong sense of community. We are situated between the cities of Boston, Worcester and Providence, RI, making Franklin an ideal town for commuters. Franklin is home to two stops on the MBTA line and is conveniently located just of Route 495. Our town is home to many businesses, such as EMC Corporation and Thermo-Fisher Scientific. Franklin is also home to Dean College, whose beautiful 100-acre campus is found in the center of town. Franklin hosts community events such as the Harvest Festival, the Strawberry Stroll, Fourth of July fair and weekly Farmer’s markets on our Town Common. Our community is filled with a wide variety of markets, restaurants, shopping destinations, theatres, and historical venues. Our recreational facilities are top-notch, with many parks, fields, hiking trails, courts, and playgrounds for our residents to enjoy.
