About TRACTION For Young People
At TRACTION, we believe every young person deserves the chance to discover the joy of learning, reach their potential, and contribute to and belong in their community. We believe investing in prevention is a smart choice. Our goal is to unlock potential in young people and help them thrive in any situation. TRACTION provides hands-on learning and mentoring programs for 12-15 year olds facing challenges. Our most popular program involves our Mentors guiding young people in building custom bikes they get to keep. Through this program, young people engage in hands-on learning and mentoring, complete meaningful projects, and experience success. They custom-build bikes that they can keep and, in doing so, get back on track with their education journey. We prioritise building trust, developing confidence, teaching new skills, strengthening work ethic, enhancing wellbeing, self-regulation of behaviour, and encouraging respectful relationships.
