About TraffordFC
Website: traffordfc.com Twitter/X: @FCTrafford Trafford TV: www.youtube.com/@TraffordFCTV Instagram: www.instagram.com/traffordfootballclub/ Brief History: Trafford FC est. 1990. David Brown, John Harrison, David Law, Bill Whitten the founders. Originally North Trafford FC sharing Shawe View in Urmston with Trafford Borough RL Club, we began our journey in the Cheshire FL. Under manager Dave Law. The club rose through the non-league pyramid reaching the NW Counties League in 1992, and winning its first trophy, a Divisional Cup, in 94. During this period the club gained sole tenancy of Shawe View, built stands & floodlights, and generally improved the facilities to what you see today. The club won the NW Counties League Title in 1997 thus reaching the Northern Premier League. Dave Law stepped down as manager in 1998 after leading the club to three promotions, a League Title, 2 cup wins, 4 further finals, and reaching the last-16 of the FA Vase in 1996 (losing to the eventual winners). Mark Molyneaux took over and guided the club to victory in the NPL Presidents Cup before moving on, whereupon a tough spell of seasons followed. Manager Joey Dunn was succeeded by Mike McKenzie, both working hard to turn results around but the club slipped back into the NW Counties in 2003. For the next 4 seasons Danny Johnson held the reigns and led us on some excellent runs in the FA Cup/FA Vase before Ged Kielty's two years in charge (07-09) saw us win the NWCL Title (taking us back to the NPL) and Presidents Cup. Playing Legend Garry Vaughan then held the reigns for 5 years, leading the club to its highest ever level - NPL Premier Division & a Manchester Premier Cup win. Following a short period under interim boss Graham Heathcote, Tom Baker's 5 seasons from 2015 saw us reach the play-offs & win the NPL League Cup. Post-Covid we were led for 3 years by Danny Caldecott; Since October 2023 by Karl Marginson. We play in NPL West Division, the 8th Tier of English football.
