About Training for Care
Training for Care is an Edinburgh based educational charity specialising in Scottish Vocational Qualifications, Employability Fund Programmes and Short Courses for the adult and child care sectors. Our Purpose Training for Care's purpose is to raise standards of care through training. Our Employability Fund programmes are designed to help young people who wish to pursue a career in social care. Through our short course programme we aim to provide training for all: contributing to people’s ability to protect and improve their own and others’ health at work and outside work: First Aid, Food Hygiene, Health and Safety, Ergonomics. Customers TfC currently provides training to over 250 organisations from the public, private, charity and voluntary sectors. Our training is delivered throughout the UK. Experience TfC is an SQA Approved Centre. Since 1993 we have supported over 2000 carers to achieve SVQs in childcare and care of adults. Our programme of short courses was introduced in 1998 and we have since delivered 4000+ courses for 36000+ participants. We deliver REHIS and Ofqual/Qualsafe approved courses. Since TfC's beginnings in 1982 we have been helping young people into care employment. 500+ young people have progressed from our school leavers programmes into care employment.
