TransitCenter, Inc., a leading provider of commuter benefits programs, was founded over twenty years ago to develop innovative ways to encourage greater use of public transit in order to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality. Today, TransitCenter continues to be focused on these objectives, along with helping employees and employers alike cope with rising commuting costs by providing transit incentives, information and assistance. As part of our mission, TransitCenter launched TransitChek, the first commuter benefits program in the nation, in 1987, which has made commuting a more affordable option for commuters across the country. Since then more than a half million employees have participated in the program as a convenient, money-saving way to pay for their commute and other transit travel. TransitChek commuter benefits programs are tailored to suit companies both large and small, and include a number of products like prepaid cards, regional travel passes and vouchers designed to work with any mode of public transportation. Beyond our leadership, innovations and encouraging the use of public transportation as a means to reduce carbon emissions, we are active in forming relationships with federal agencies, transportation organizations, and transit operators across the nation in an effort to support the commuting public and helping them to save money on their commute.
