The Transport Friendly Society (TFS): Serving our members since 1885 TFS began by providing peace of mind to drivers who, in exchange for a penny or two per week, knew that if they died while working on the buses, their loved ones would have some money to help them pay for essentials. Today we still provide that peace of mind through our Sickness & Hospitalisation Plans, Tax-Free Savings and Health Cash Plans. In 2018 we had nearly 23,000 members and assets worth over £70 million under management. We are your mutual We are a Mutual Society, which means we are owned by our members and we do not have any shareholders to pay dividends to. Our profits are ploughed back into the Society’s products and services for the benefit of our members. In 2018 we paid out nearly £2.3 million in benefits to our members.
