The story of TranzAlpineHoney began in 1910 when the Newton family started keeping bees in the remote South Island of New Zealand. And it’s been a family run business ever since. Allen Newton collected his first swarms from the Lyndhurst school bell tower in 1920 and by the early 1930s, the Newton family had forty beehives producing up to three tons of honey. Now, 110 years later and run by the 4th family generation TranzAlpineHoney is New Zealand’s largest organic certified honey producer and exporter. Distributing organic honey to over 28 countries on five different continents. Right from the beginning, the family realised the importance of producing honey that is sustainably produced and organic. For the past 27 years, TranzAlpineHoney has been certified organic with BioGro™ New Zealand and in 2020 gained COR/USDA organic equivalence and now features the USDA Organic logo. New products are being continuously developed for emerging markets keen to experience delicious organic New Zealand honey. The latest 100% organic range, Honey Fusions, is gaining popularity in the US market.
