About Trauma Informed Practice Institute

The Trauma Informed Practice Institute is approved by the Canadian Psychological Association to offer continuing education. We provide you with tools and knowledge to assist clients with trauma and understand how it impacts the healing process. Trauma Informed Practice (TIP) training workshops are geared towards professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds including social workers, psychology students, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, naturopaths and other health-oriented disciplines. Level 1 training: This workshop provides participants with tools, knowledge and expertise on how to assist clients with trauma and understand how trauma impacts the healing process. Research supports that knowledge of TIP is critical in helping clients move through barriers to healing. Continuing Education Credits (Optional): This workshop is approved for 6 CE credits from the Canadian Psychological Association upon completion of the final quiz with a grade of at least 80% and declaration of full attendance. Level 2 training: This workshop builds on the TIP knowledge acquired from Level 1. This experiential session focuses primarily on the acquisition and demonstration of skills and techniques that adhere to TIP indicators, which assist clients in their healing process. Continuing Education Credits (Optional) This workshop is approved for 5.5 CE credits from the Canadian Psychological Association upon successful demonstration of mindfulness, metaphor, and tracking the history of emotions within dyad work. We are located on the land that is the unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, including the territories of the Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh), the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and the Stó:lō Nations.
