About Tree Foundation

TREE Foundation is a nonprofit that focuses on tree research, education and exploration. Founded in the year 1999, TREE's first flagship project was to construction North America's first public canopy walkway in Myakka River State Park, Florida, Since then, over half million visitors come to the park each year to walk in the treetops. TREE focuses on both local and global programs, including a renown tree conservation program in Ethiopia. Working in collaboration with the Ethiopian Orthodox church priests, TREE director Meg Lowman has been instrumental to conserve over half of the highest biodiversity forests in northern Ethiopia. TREE is over halfway with a fund-raising activity to conserve the 40 highest biodiversity forests, and also donates tree books to the rural schools. TREE Foundation also hosts virtual expeditions, where Lowman lectures to school groups via internet, as well as providing education materials through our website
