About Trek2Health

WHO WE ARE Trek2Health is an organisation founded with the single-minded objective to provide ongoing support to First Responders to Emergency Services personal such as firefighters, EMTs, and police officers in our communities. We hope to develop meaningful programs, resources and assistance to address specific needs related to AFR Veterans, First Responders and their families, including but not limited to post-traumatic stress treatment, critical incident support, outreach and community engagement. WHO WE SUPPORT Trek2Health is an initiative that was started to support the brave men and women who serve as First Responders to Emergency Services personal and who may suffer from the negative impacts exposed to them through the unimaginable experiences of their professional services. First responders such as firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, police officers, search and rescue and those serving in our defence force face horrors every day in their line of work that most of us can't imagine. Figures released in 2015 by the National Coronial Information System revealed that one first responder was dying by suicide every six weeks, with many suffering in silence. Our aim is to assist in connecting and integrating those affected back into the community again, identifying those at risk and providing the professional services required in an accessible and supportive environment. Through a series of specially designed, team-orientated journeys we aim to reconnect with mother nature via bush treks, engaging them in team environments and with other like-minded people to build support networks and encouraging healthy minds and bodies. We want to develop an ongoing module-based program, with goal-orientated treks that are designed to provide First Responders to Emergency Services personal with a purpose and direction in a stigma-free, supportive environment and need your help.
