My name is Alex Treutel, President, Treutel Insurance Agency. With an insurance legacy of almost 100 years on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, the Treutel family has been associated with the best in insurance and community service. With a book of insurance business that has represented some of the best insurance companies, my family, which has included my great grandfather PJ Treutel, my grandfather, David Treutel, and my dad, David Treutel Jr, have owned and operated a Bay St Louis based insurance agency in Hancock County with clients from throughout the Mississippi Gulf Coast and surrounding Louisiana and Alabama. For years leading up to and including the last year I worked with my dad in 2011, Treutel Insurance was named one of a few Best Practices Agency by the national Big I association of independent insurance agents. This book of business (but not the Treutel Insurance corporate name) was sold to one of the biggest and esteemed Mississippi privately owned insurance entities known for serving the gulf south region. I worked for the Mississippi Gulf Coast branch of this Jackson based entity with my mom, Angelyn Zeringue, through 2024 as a vice president and casualty, life and health insurance agent. Mom was great, but something was missing. While payroll and expense checks all came from out of town, there were too many trips to Jackson and not enough time serving the most important thing...the community and my insurance friends, family and clients. We all must give back as I was taught at an early age. Serving the people of this area with the best insurance products will be my focus as I open my Treutel Insurance Agency, a new business but with the same almost 100-year legacy of Treutel family service to this area.
