Tribe-X, we believe the conversations around diversity and inclusion have too often been stuck in the wrong frame. How can women, LGBTQ+ people, Black and Brown communities — and all those historically exploited — find equality in an industry built by and for a small circle of privileged elites? The tech world as we know it has grown at an unprecedented pace, but its foundations remain deeply tied to racial capitalism, eurocentric ideologies, and neo-colonial structures. Leadership continues to be dominated by a narrow demographic, while profit and exploitation remain at the center. Tribe-X exists to imagine the unimaginable: - A decolonized tech industry that reflects diverse cultures, geographies, and identities. - Technology that empowers people, rather than profiting from them. - Knowledge and languages online that are liberated from imperialist frameworks. - A return to the essence of tech: sharing information freely, for the collective good. We are building a first-of-its-kind decolonial association — a space to reimagine technology, share knowledge, and amplify voices that have long been silenced. As Nikki Sanchez reminds us: “It’s not my fault, but it is my responsibility.” And as Elma Akob said: “If we are not good, I’m not good.”
