About Tribeca Maternity
Tribeca Maternity is a new branch of Tribeca Therapy, an NYC therapy practice with offices in Lower Manhattan and Park Slope, Brooklyn, that provides help for women, their partners, and their families. With Rachael Benjamin serving as its Director, Tribeca Maternity was founded in order to pay necessary and specialized attention to addressing the emotional experiences related to family planning, trying to conceive, pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenthood. Tribeca Maternity was created in response to observations of the limitations in the help women and their families typically receive around maternity. Tribeca Maternity not only strives to get close to patients’ current experiences with maternity, but also to understand the rest of their histories, lives, and relationships, which have continued effect on their emotional lives. Although Tribeca Therapy dedicated resources toward creating Tribeca Maternity in 2019, its launch was expedited in response to the incredible impact the COVID-19 crisis has had on trying, expecting, and new parents’ lives and relationships: overcrowded, overtaxed medical systems, stalled fertility services, delayed adoption and surrogacy processes, and the general stress of living during a pandemic. Witnessing these growing and shifting needs, Tribeca Maternity aims to provide the help women and their families need remotely now during this complicated and unprecedented time through teletherapy and online therapy.
