Tricoastal Productions was founded by award-winning NYC-based actor and filmmaker Shannon Harris to produce her first film, comedic narrative short "THREE birds," which she also wrote, directed, and in which she leads the diverse cast. The name Tricoastal Productions, "TCP" for short, is both biographical and aspirational. Along with NYC, Shannon has lived in LA and London - three entertainment capitals of the world - and aims to be tricoastal in the future. TCP's broader mission is producing the work of and amplifying the voices of underrepresented artists and their stories. "THREE birds" won Best Comedy; and Shannon's second film "grist," which she also wrote, produced, directed, and played the lead role, won Best Cast at the 2022 NYWIFT Online Shorts Festival. "grist" also won Best Narrative and Best Actor (Stephen Cofield, Jr.) at the 2021 Mott Haven Film Festival. The two films, the first and second in a planned three-part series of shorts based on idioms, have been official selections at over 15 local and national film festivals.
