TriniPaws is an online community and information hub that provides guidance and resources to pet owners with sick pets. We empower pet owners to make the right decisions and to find the care their sick pets need. Katharina Loeffler, the founder of TriniPaws, struggled to find the right treatment options for Frank, her cat with special needs. She felt overwhelmed by all the information she didn’t have when she was forced to take a sick Frank to the vet. After 3 different neurologists determined that Frank would need an expensive shunt surgery to his brain at 6 months old, Kat performed research to find out more information before she took any further action. She consulted with several researchers, practitioners, and specialists to learn that Frank had a liver shunt since birth and should not undergo anesthesia without being on a certain protocol. Luckily, the specialist she found had the experience to successfully perform this surgery on Frank. If it weren’t for Kat’s thoroughness and persistence, Frank wouldn’t have made it through the initial surgery, and Kat would’ve been out thousands of dollars. Since this was such a grueling process, Kat wanted to make this a less stressful process for other pet owners. This is how TriniPaws was born.
