Think back to your most memorable travel experience. Who did you travel with? What sites did you visit? Regardless of destination or purpose, travel changes us. It forces us to step out of our comfort zone, experience diverse cultures, and most importantly learn about ourselves. We feel that every student should have this opportunity, regardless of race or income. Trip of a Lifetime is a student-run 501(c)3 non-profit organization that uses travel to unlock the true potential in underprivileged students, enabling them to become the leaders of tomorrow. Since its inception, the organization has raised over $600,000 and has provided travel experiences for over 250 students. The organization is best known for its highly selective summer travel scholarships, which are given to 15-20 students each year that display a passion for travel and a desire to use their experience to become a catalyst for change in their communities. Recently, the organization has been featured in the Poughkeepsie Journal and Wall Street Journal. It has also been named a recommended summer opportunity by the New York City Department of Education and has partnerships with American Express Travel and Leisure Pass North America.
