Founded by Joseph LaBarge in 1994, the school had humble beginnings, offering its first training program with only one truck and one instructor. In no time at all, the school flourished and grew from a two-man operation to a first-class CDL training institution, approved as a third-party testing facility for the state of Michigan. With assistance from agencies such as Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation (DESC), Focus Hope, Southwest Economic Solutions (SWES), City of Detroit, Michigan Works, and Goodwill Detroit, US Truck Driver Training School has more than earned its reputation as the premier CDL training provider in the Detroit metropolitan area. Our corporate headquarters are located in Sterling Heights, MI, and provide a full range of services including training, job placement assistance, and financial aid. Former Governor Jennifer Granholm awarded USTDTS with a special tribute celebrating the opening of our state-of-the-art facility and the school’s dedication to job placement. We are constantly updating our training programs and equipment to ensure students get the best and most up-to-date education possible. Not only has USTDTS provided exceptional training for the general public, but it has also provided training for employees of the following Fortune 500 companies: Ford, GM, Chrysler, Meritor Wabco, Kraft Nabisco, Mondeleze, and more.
