About True North Consulting
True North Consulting LLC specializes in helping organizations transform their operations through Lean Six Sigma and Supply Chain Management methodologies. We train individuals in Toyota's Lean principles and in Six Sigma problem solving. Our new offering of eLearning On-Demand training leverages technology to deliver "self-serve", low cost training to our customers. Founded by a former Toyota senior manager, True North approaches organizational challenges with a holistic approach, addressing the three pillars of change: people, processes, and technology. Our expertise in accounting and finance enables us to integrate Lean with the financial reporting function. Commonly referred to as "Lean Accounting", companies who are maturing in their Lean journey are embracing a whole new mind set in the accounting function. Internal financial statements by value stream, combined with a strong Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) system, ensures the whole organization is synchronized, real-time, to financial metrics they understand. At the same time, transactional intensity is greatly reduced as well as the excessive time spent reconciling Lean metrics to traditional shop order accounting data. This frees up accounting resources to drive cost reduction as they immerse themselves more in operations.
