About True North of Columbia
About Us: True North serves as Boone County’s only emergency shelter and supportive services program for all survivors of intimate partner domestic violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking and stalking. On an annual basis our agency provides a safe haven 24 hours a day and 7 days a week for approximately 800 survivors, crisis hotline services for over 4500 individuals, and provide over 16,000 support services. True North’s remarkable staff delivers an extensive range of services at both at our emergency shelter and advocacy center. These services include, counseling, crisis intervention, court advocacy, educational programs, support groups, children's activities, and parenting workshops. Each team member walks alongside survivors, providing support, a shoulder to lean on, a space for laughter, and empowering them to lead the fulfilling lives they truly deserve. Our Mission: To empower all to create a safer community by providing safety, shelter, education, and transitional support for those who have been affected by intimate partner domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking and sex trafficking.
