After working together at a local bank, they decided to team up to start True North of Iowa. Erik has been a resident of the Cedar Valley for more than three decades. He moved to Cedar Falls in 1991 to play baseball and attend the University of Northern Iowa. He took an internship with Lincoln Savings Bank as a senior and stayed for 28 years. He served as CEO for nine years, and in June of 2023, motivated to apply his corporate experience and financial acumen to build his own business. Erik left the bank to start a consulting adventure. Similar to Erik, Katie came to the Cedar Valley in 2005 to attend the University of Northern Iowa (although, she didn't play baseball) and never left. She spent more than a decade working for UNI's Wilson College of Business before going back into the private sector. She currently serves as COO of Wayne, a QSR technology solutions company.
