About Truman Scholars Association

The Truman Scholars Association is comprised of all recipients of the Harry S. Truman Scholarship. The Harry S. Truman Scholarship is awarded to college juniors with exceptional leadership potential who are committed to careers in government, nonprofit or advocacy sectors, education or elsewhere in public service. For more information about the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation, founded in 1975, please visit http://www.truman.gov. The Truman Scholars Association (TSA), founded in 1997, exists to support, connect and promote Harry S. Truman Scholars in every way. The Truman network consists of some of the finest public service leaders from over thirty years of Scholar classes. The TSA strives to open the lines of communication between those individuals to benefit Scholars, society and the legacy of President Harry S. Truman. All Truman Scholars are automatically admitted into the organization and are encouraged to remain actively involved. The mission of the Truman Scholars Association is to build, maintain, and educate a community of Truman Scholars; to foster a lifelong commitment to public service in all its forms through intellectual, personal, and professional development; and to support and promote public service. The TSA is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization.
