Trusticert is an independent SME that provides regulatory and scientific support for the development of the low-risk products. Our first focus is on electronic cigarette. The Eurobarometer 2014 shows that electronic cigarette is the best alternative to smoking, used by over 99% by smokers or ex-smokers: about one third of them has achieved to quit smoking and another one third of them has decreased the use of cigarettes. A panel of international scientists signed a document at Public Health England arguing that electronic cigarettes can be up to 95% less harmful than smoking. To ensure quality and safety for consumers, EU member states have been rigidly regulating this sector since 2016. This regulatory pressure will exert a strong selection among the 2700 companies registered at CEG (Common Entry Gate of European Union) producing or importing tobacco and related products. Similar situations are occurring in several countries around the world, including the United States, New Zealand, Canada, Australia. We lead companies through this regulatory and technological challenge, setting ourselves in direct contact with the relevant international authorities, being a reliable and constantly updated interface. We also support companies in the challenge for responsible product innovation: in collaboration with institutes and important laboratories we develop industrial research, new products and increasingly accurate methodologies for product safety tests and toxicological risk assessment.
