About TTN Translation Network

TTN was founded in 1987 in order to explore the capacities of the newly invented Hayes Modem in the field of digital translation management and translation routing. Since 1991 the system has been translating Swiss avalanche information with extremely short turnaround times. However it appeared soon that translation routing is a very complex field, much more complex as initially foreseen. It took almost 30 years to develop a translation routing system able to do a better job than the human brain. Most components and modules of the system are still in beta state. The main kernel however has been running stable for many years. The system counts over 5000 pages of code. The code is written in C# and some modules in C++.
