Ever since 1884, Leichtfried Loden in Austria has specialised in producing high quality woollen cloth & loden fabrics made primarily from extra fine Australian Merino wool. The carefully selected raw materials pass through many different stages in a complete and fully integrated production process - from the spinning of fine woollen yarns and weaving of greige fabrics right through to the finished cloth. Meticulous quality assurance procedures throughout the entire production process ensure that customers can always rely on first-class quality. The combination of longstanding experience, consistent craftsmanship and modern technology has enabled the woollen mill to look back on more than 130 years of the company’s history. It remains the backbone behind the company’s success today. Loden has long been known as the fabric par excellence for traditional costume clothing in Austria and South Germany.
