It all started with making a good home for the grapes. We began building that 'home' with an empty slate. This place held promise for much more than the rugged fields and scattered stands of fir trees foretold. After careful planning and site preparation the professionals were brought in to evaluate what grapes would grow best here on Pete's Mountain. The rows were plotted to make the best use of how the sun moved across the sky. The soil was turned and stakes set in place. Acre after acre the young vines were planted and strung up to take what nature had for them in this new home. One never quite knows what will happen. We waited. This summer we were delighted to receive our very first harvest of grapes, enough to produce a limited batch. Like proud parents we lift our glass to toast the realization of the dream. Looking forward, we envision being able to harvest a bountiful yield in another year or two. Until then we have been blessed to partner with local wineries for a splendid selection of classic vines to enjoy right here in this special place we call Tumwater Reserve. Visit us in beautiful West Linn for an incredible experience tasting our current-releases. We offer a $15 flight of Tumwater wines, and of course all are available to enjoy by the glass (complimentary tastings for Wine Club Members). Make the experience last.
