About UBC Esports Association
The UBC Esports Association was first established on November 2, 2010 as the UBC StarCraft Club. The UBC Starcraft Club was then reconstituted as UBCEA on July 4, 2012 to include more game titles. We are centralized around the Vancouver campus of the University of British Columbia, but our membership and events are open to anyone, not just UBC students. Our purpose is to establish a community of people in the Greater Vancouver area who enjoy gaming, by facilitating improved interaction and communication of players both offline and online. We host various events including fan meets, icebreakers, viewing parties, tournaments, mentorships, giveaways, and creative contests. Our goal is to raise awareness of Vancouver's esports scene and to participate in and/or support local events.
