About UBC MakeMED

UBC MakeMed is a student-led organization at UBC dedicated to innovation in life sciences and healthcare. Our goal is to help pre-med students and anyone interested in medical and healthcare research explore their interests in healthcare design while gaining experience and a community that they can carry forward in their future endeavours. Our club has two main departments: 1. A research team that intends to compete in the Johns Hopkins Healthcare Design competition, where students will develop solutions to pressing global health challenges, advanced health systems, and digital healthcare. 2. A non-competitive Spotlight Initiative team with the goal of fostering an environment that promotes healthcare research among undergraduate students at UBC through the Spotlight Initiative newsletter and Spotlight Initiative events. In addition, we seek to run in-house events such as monthly healthcare research jams, and presentations from UBC students, healthcare professionals, and professors. 📣If you are passionate about medicine, life sciences, and biomedical engineering, this is your chance to get involved and gain experience in the field of healthcare design with us! ➡️Don’t forget to follow for club event and activity postings!
