About UCD Netsoc – UCD's Internet and Computer Science Society

UCD Internet Society—more affectionately known as Netsoc—is UCD’s Internet & Computer Science society. Established in 1995 with the mission of making internet access available to the students of UCD, we've now evolved into one of the largest Irish collegiate computer science/tech societies with over 500 members. We're committed to fostering talent and helping you grow professionally through events with our sponsors, like the Arista Hackathon and SIG Poker Tournament we held in 2023/24. We also provide events where you can meet like-minded people to connect with and have fun, like our Kakilang Boba Afternoon or Code, Chill + Pizza with the UCD CompSci department. Members also enjoy exclusive access to our servers - recently upgraded thanks to SIG - for hosting websites, crunching data, or running their own online services. Keep an eye out for committee positions that will be opening soon as we head into Freshers Week 2025 at UCD! We will be looking for our new fresher's rep and post-grad rep, as well as other committee positions. In 2019, UCD Societies awarded us Small Society of the Year. In 2020, UCD Societies awarded us Event of the Year for our tech conference 'SISTEM 2020'.
